As with our top 10 posts, this will be an overview of our top 5 YouTube videos of 2021 based purely on view count. As in our article roundup, there are honorable mentions for videos that made the Top 5 but weren’t produced in 2021. They’ll get some love but won’t make the official list. . Kicking off the list at number 5 is, unsurprisingly, a short video on Google’s latest flagship phones – the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Tensor-powered flagships have made it to the top of the lists of many tech sites and YouTube channels and for good reason. Google has a hit on its hands and the Pixel 6 gives us hope that Google has finally become a true competitor to smartphones. Coming in at number 4, the first 11th Gen Chromebook Tiger Lake to hit the market came in the form of a 15.6″ convertible from ASUS. This Chromebook wasn’t just a solid overall device, it was a total of 180 among recent ASUS offerings that were considerably overpriced and well below our idea of what a high-end Chromebook should be. Since then, ASUS has continued to bring the hits with two more ultra-premium devices that both made our Best of 2021 list for all the right reasons. Some of our most popular video content seems to revolve around budget-conscious devices on a regular basis. Video number three of 2021 is just that. We’ve seen a slew of MediaTek-powered Chromebooks hit shelves over the past 12 months, and many “cheap” models can be had for well under $200. In this video, Robby explains whether it’s worth spending your hard-earned cash on the HP Chromebook 11a that often goes on sale for $179 or less.

The explosion of Android apps on Chrome OS, USI pens, and tablet form factors has led to the accelerated advancement of all kinds of handwriting and drawing apps designed to work well on Chromebooks. It was a rough start, but over time Cursive has become a decent little tool in the Chrome OS arsenal. Video number two of 2021 is a quick hands-on with Google’s Cursive app.

Honorable mention

As promised, we have an honorable mention on the list. There were a few videos that made the top 10 that didn’t get released in 2021, but this is, by far, the number one video of the year, and it was produced in 2018. This video continues to blow and it has garnered just under 2 million views to date. At the time, the idea seemed simple. It was just after Christmas and we thought it would be a good idea to do a little video on how to get familiar with your new Chromebook as lots of people were converting to the platform. Since then, it continues to be one of the most searched tutorials on the web in the Chrome OS space and makes it one of our top performing videos of all time. Thus, the honorable mention goes to Got a new Chromebook? 10 things you need to know.

And now we have come to number one. While we started out by unboxing and reviewing the hardware, Chrome Unboxed has expanded into a wide range of areas covering Google-related products. Some of our most popular content is about software and services. Chrome OS is no exception to this rule. Whenever a major Chrome OS update is released, users are extremely interested in new features and secret tricks to get the most out of a Chromebook. From Phone Hub to the new Tote and everything in between, Chrome OS 89 was packed with new features and Robby’s flagship video quickly caught fire and took off.
