‘True and the Rainbow Kingdom’ hits 1 billion views on YouTube


Toronto children’s entertainment powerhouse Guru Studio has announced that its hit preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom surpassed one billion views and more than one million subscribers on YouTube.

In addition to the success of the English-language channel, to support the growth of True internationally, the company recently launched more than 15 multilingual channels, including: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish and Turkish. In the first six months, the Portuguese and Spanish channels exceeded nearly 300,000 subscribers.

True surpassed the billion-view milestone by providing regular content updates every week, posting unique clips, songs, activities and multilingual content for the show’s growing global audience. The series True and the Rainbow Kingdom is currently streaming on Netflix worldwide and is one of the top performers on major linear networks around the world, including CBC Kids (Canada), Tiny Pop (UK), Gloob (Brazil) and Clan TV (Spain) .

A full line of toys has recently been launched in the United States, Canada and select international markets such as Israel, the Philippines and Australia. Other territories, including the UK, are expected to launch later this year. True and the Rainbow Kingdom is produced by Guru Studio (PAW Patrol, Pikwik Pack, Big Blue, Justin Time; most recently Sesame Street Mecha Builders, now streaming on HBO Max) based on artwork by FriendsWithYou, and is produced by world-renowned artist Pharrell Williams.

In addition to its explosive growth on YouTube, True The GIPHY page now has over four billion views. The series was also nominated for a 2020 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program.
