She is one of seven children in a parent-led YouTuber family Mast and Christina. Together they, Alyssa and her siblings David (13), Zac (12), Chris (12), Michael (8), owen (4), and newborn Chloe have made videos for their Youtube channel Family Fun Pack since October 2011. In total, the family has uploaded over 2,000 clips, has nearly 10 million subscribers, and generates around 40 million views per month.
But this feature does not apply to the family channel. It’s about Alyssa.
Alyssa and her parents created her solo channel, Always Alyssain 2016. People who come to her channel from Family Fun Pack will find a similar vibe: her content is also brilliant, kid-friendly, and often follows her doing challenges and doing crafts and cooking. , and offers insight into everyday adventures like visiting Great Wolf Lodge with her best friend (embedded below).
She also has videos of her own, like a series of skits with her self-taught characters, Ms. Johnson (the average teacher everyone’s had at least once and never wants to have again) and fan videos from his favorite television series. Survivor.
Alyssa chose to launch her own channel. So when she becomes an adult, she will already have her own platform and her own audience if she decides to continue doing YouTube. Whether she continues or not, however, she has no plans to leave the camera – one of her dreams is to end up on the Survivor the island or in the Big Brother lodge.
Check out our conversation with her below.
Tubefilter: How does it feel to reach a million subscribers on your channel? What do you have to say to your followers?
Alyssa: It’s amazing to have reached such a milestone on my channel! I’m so grateful to everyone who subscribed because without my fans I never would have reached it. Thank you so much to my amazing subscribers!! I also want to thank followers for keeping the comment section so positive. I love the comments people leave.
Tubefilter: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where do you come from? What are your favorite activities?
Alyssa: I’m 15 and from southern California. I really enjoy painting, drawing, playing piano and guitar, playing soccer and cooking. My favorite TV show is Survivor! I also like Big Brotherand I want to be on the show.
Tubefilter: What’s it like to be part of a YouTuber family?
Alyssa: It’s really unique to be part of a family that does YouTube for a living. I love how we have a big family and spend a lot of time together! We are often stopped in public by fans and I love to say hello to them.
Tubefilter: You launched your own channel in 2016. Why did you decide to create your own separate channel? Why is it important for you to have your own creative space on YouTube?
Alyssa: I decided to create my own separate channel so that I could create personalized videos for me and what I think my fans will enjoy watching. My parents wanted me to have my own channel so that when I grow up I have my own platform already set up so I can continue on social media if I want to. I love having my own channel where I can post content that I like to film, like art tutorials, cooking, vlogs, crafts, and sketches.
Tubefilter: What does an average day look like for you? How do you balance school, art and making videos?
Alyssa: Usually when I wake up, depending on the day, I either have guitar lessons, or basketball lessons, or singing lessons. I shoot my YouTube videos in daylight when the lighting is best. I mainly paint and draw at night, as we are usually very busy during the day. Since I’m homeschooled, I can be quite flexible with my schedule and when I do my homework. I have textbooks for every subject and I work on my school in the evenings after music lessons.
Tubefilter: What are your favorite types of videos to make?
Alyssa: My favorite YouTube videos to film are definitely the Mrs. Johnson skits (a parody where I pose as the worst teacher) and the art tutorials. I love to draw and paint, so it’s really fun to make videos about it!
Tubefilter: What do you love about creating YouTube videos alone or with your family?
Alyssa: I love being able to film my daily life and all of our fun experiences, so I can post them on YouTube for people to watch and enjoy.
Tubefilter: Is there anything new and exciting that you would like to tell us about?
Alyssa: Just recently, my little sister was born!! I’ve wanted a sister all my life, and now I finally have one.❤️ She’s super tiny and adorable!
Tubefilter: Do you think you will continue making videos when you get older? Is there anything else you would like to do as a career?
Alyssa: I think I will definitely continue to document my life as I get older. I plan to do similar things to what I do now, like art projects and vlogging. As for another job or career, I’ve always wanted to sell my art or give an art class. That would also be pretty cool. Maybe I can even be on Survivor Where Big Brother one day!!
